fomo.nyc is a free, community-built interactive map of upcoming events in NYC.

It works by visiting the websites of parks, museums, music venues, etc., identifying any upcoming events, and displaying them on a map. The goal is for this to become a useful resource for people to find events they are interested in and to engage with their local communities. This is a function that has been co-opted by monetized social media platforms with financial incentives that do not serve the public interest – but it doesn’t have to be this way! We can build a better alternative.

fomo.city is a project by Isha Mani, a software engineer living in Brooklyn.
