FixIt – AI Facilities Operations Platform

FixIt is an AI-powered facilities management platform built by computer science students at City College of New York. It transforms the way buildings are maintained, from fragmented email chains, phone calls, and spreadsheets into structured, queryable, real-time operational data.

The platform centers on a multimodal AI pipeline: a staff member photographs a maintenance issue, and within seconds the system automatically classifies it, assigns priority, generates a description, and routes it for dispatch, all without manual data entry. A live operations map gives facility managers geographic visibility over every active issue across multiple buildings simultaneously. An AI assistant lets non-technical managers ask plain-English questions and receive answers grounded in live operational data.
